Summary
The current logo of NetIP is long due for a replacement.
This logo was originally created as a test of Bing Chat when Microsoft released its image generation feature. I used it as a placeholder when working on the initial release of NetIP, and never got the time to replace it.
With v0.4.0, I think now is the time to replace it with something better.
Use Case
Well, better app identity for the most part.
Proposed Solution
If it’s not already obvious, I’m not a graphic designer!
Fortunately, the image generation LLMs have come a long way since this first test, and can now even take this original logo as an input and improve it.
This is one of the best design I got from ChatGPT:
I decided to use this design as a base, recreate and improve it properly in a vector design editor.
Screenshots or Mockups
Here’s the final design :
It’s not perfect, there’s always room for improvements (again, I’m really not good at designing stuff). But I have to decide when to stop designing and deploy the logo everywhere (app, repo, website, documentation, third parties, etc). So I think I’ll go with it and I can always come back to it later.
Additional Information
I will release the SVG version of the logo when v0.4.0 is done.
